talking without talking

Whenever I'm apart from Andrew for a few days, it starts to dawn on me how much he takes the brunt of my extraversion.  I process things by talking through them, and he always listens to me.  What a nice fellow, right?  He's camping with his family right now, so I'm starting to feel like I just have SO much to tell him (even though very little of it is all that important)!  Perhaps I should start using one of those voice-recording diaries like Luann has; it would be much more efficient than sitting down and writing things out (which might be why I don't update much sometimes).  Then again, maybe not.  I much prefer having a  real conversation with a real person.  And Andrew is pretty damn good company.  :)

Anyway, here are some things that are going on:

-  I haven't been paying too much attention to the Somali pirate situation (I only knnow the basics of what's going on but not many details), but now my friend's parents are directly affected by it.  Long story very short, they are circumnavigating the world on a catamaran.  Anyway, they're in Africa right now and would like to head up to Asia and hike the Himalayas, but the pirates are complicating things.  The recent anti-piracy actions in the approaches to the Red Sea have pushed some of the Somali pirates further south, and some are now operating around the Seychelles (North-Northeast of Madagascar, in the area where they'd be sailing out).  These people were like a second set of parents to me when I was a kid, and I'm starting to worry about them.

-  I just finished watching my last Mathes sunset.  It was one of those where the sun is so bright and pinky-orange that you can't look at it without squinting.  Now the skies are calm.  It seemed like a fitting enough sunset to conclude my time here.

-  I'm moving into the pink house.  Most of my stuff is there; it's just bare bones now for my last night in Mathes (EVER!).

-  Speaking of the pink house, I need a dresser.  I'm going to look at one tomorrow that I found on Craigslist, but I've never bought anything from Craigslist before, so I hope it goes well because I really need a dresser.

-  Speaking of Craigslist, I have a mini-fridge to sell.  It works great - I've only had it for nine months - but the house has a real fridge so there's not much point in my having a mini one.  So, I'll probably end up having to put it on Craigslist.  Unless you or someone you know want(s) a mini-fridge... any takers??

extraversion, pink house, sunsets, hackings, andrew
