no one really updates anymore, do they? myself included, of course. i don't really deem anything much in my life exciting or interesting enough for updating, or if i do, i really just get too lazy to sit down and broadcast it to the rest of my friends in internet land. oh well. seems like an LJ trend. my friends page may remain stagnant for days, but i don't mind it that much. i really should be doing more productive things than sitting here at the computer for any length of time.
anyway, today the weather is kind of crummy. its foggy and misting out. atleast it's not snowing, right? i'd much rather it were sunny and mid-sixties, but who doesn't? we have to do laundry today, and i think that i would like to paste the wedding invitations together so that we can get them out by the end of the month. or maybe by the end of the first week of april.
we still have to address all of the envelopes and buy like 25456154 stamps. that's gonna hurt the wallet. 37 cents a stamp, times 120 or so. one for the outside envelope, plus one for the envelope for them to RSVP. rar. it's okay though, because we saved a wad of money by making the invites ourselves. they came out really nice too. i should really start working on my dress this week. i mean, i've started it, i cut out the pattern and pinned it onto the fabric and roughly cut out the pieces. i still have to cut each piece out, though, and then sewwwww. i haven't made one stitch on that dress yet. i'm a little scared. i've made so many curtains and pillows and a little dress and a skirt that i haven't quite finished yet, but this is my wedding dress. i just figure if i take my time, it will be okay. i just get frustrated when i have to spend a long time on things and don't really get anywhere. oh well. it will turn out.
i finished the ring pillow already. it looks adorable!! :D and we bought the guest book while we were in maryland last weekend.
oh yeah, we went to maryland for 4 days last weekend. it was awesome. annapolis was amazing. clean, interesting, quaint, classy. my kind of city. it reminded me of fredonia a little, mostly in the size of it. and we saw couples walking together everywhere we went. our kind of place :D i felt really at home there, and it was comforting.
baltimore, on the other hand, was quite...scary? well not scary really, maybe just shocking. i thought it would be much nicer than it was. it was kind of project/ghetto-ish. it was lovely down by the inner harbor and harborplace, but if you ventured anywhere more than a few blocks from the water, it wasn't that pleasant anymore. it's hard to know that though, when you are going into things so blindly, like we did. how could we have known? you can only do so much research over the internet and by asking around. there were so many african americans around where our hotel was. and we have both been quite ethnically sheltered in our small towns, that it was rather awkward being in a huge grocery store with only 2 other white people in the entire store. we were definately out-of-towners, lol.
it was a nice time though, and i am really excited to be moving down there. i wouldn't even mind living in a city like annapolis. and i despise cities. now that's saying something, because the only other city that i have been to that i like is toronto. we still have to find a place to live, but that shouldn't be too too hard, especially now that we have a feel for what it's like down there. i think it will be exciting. :D
okay, now that i have written the longest entry ever, i had better end this.
later
