“Oh, wow,” Gendry was saying, and she almost smacked him. He looked like such a sap, going around with his mouth open in awe. He sounded, she thought to herself, like her sister when she talked about that stupid boy band, One Direction or whatever the hell they were called.
“It’s just a hole,” Arya said when she caught up, her voice flat, her arms crossed. “Nothing special about a hole in the mountain.”
“It’s a cave, you idiot,” he answered, and he was grinning like Christmas had come early.
“You’re the idiot,” she mumbled back, but she followed him into the mouth of the cave all the same.

“Hey, watch where you’re going!” Gendry spluttered when she walked into him.
“You watch where you’re going!” A pause while Gendry sighed like he was the only person on the planet who had ever known suffering, then a muttered “sorry, I can’t see worth a damn in here

"Go away!" she shouted, scooping up as many of the little rocks as she could carry in the crook of her arm. They weren't very heavy, but a few were coarse and had edges still rough enough to scratch. With the rain streaming so fast down the mouth of the cave and the sky outside so dim and grey, she could barely make out her invader. "Seven hells!" her target shouted a moment after her projectile found its mark. She knew that voice. But Arya drew back her arm and hurled another stone, anyway. This time she missed, and could hear the rock skittering along the loose path leading up, but he cried out again, "Stop that!"
"Go. Away!" she yelled back, even more determined to strike him down now that she was certain it was him. She punctuated her words with another violent swing, "You aren't taking me back there!" Undeterred by the hail

He ignored the question, unpacking the contents of the bag. While the leather was soaked, the bundle of fabric within still seemed to have protected whatever was inside. "It's freezing. You hungry?" He revealed half a loaf of bread, peeking out from between the folds of linen. Against her will, her stomach grumbled. She had hardly eaten anything in the past few days, save for a handful of berries she had determined safe to eat. But since the rainstorm started, Arya had spent most of her time inside the makeshift shelter of the cave.
"Why. Are. You. Here?" she repeated herself, in spite of her sharp awareness of the hunger in her belly
