I also have closet woes..my #1 Woe being I only have ONE CLOSET in my entire apartment. That's ONE CLOSET. Supposed to house all my clothes & other stuff you put in closets. HA! Yea, right! It's a challenge trying to get the most stuff to functionally fit inside there.
Yeah, I feel your pain. I rent a room in a condo and the entire place is curiously devoid of closet space. I have one closet accessible to me. About a quarter of the space is just taken by light jackets and coats. If could just get rid of that stuff I'd have so much more room for clothes!
I'm off to look for space bags and other helpful stuff tonight, but I can't create miracles. Ugh.
