At the time of going through selection process in Bosch company, I think it may be helpful getting to know more about company's values and how I could fit to any of them. I'll show each one of them, attaching example from my experience.
1. Future and Result Focus. “In order to ensure dynamic development of our company and to guarantee long-term corporate success, we participate in shaping the changes in markets and technologies. By doing so, we provide our customers with innovative solutions and our associates with attractive jobs. We act result-focused in order to secure growth and financial independence. With the dividends generated, the Robert Bosch Foundation supports charitable activities.”
- When I worked for Teletask, a company related to home automation, our main goal was to make a smart home 100% comfortable for client so there is no other post-working processes. As we say, a "complete technical decision". At the same time, we were focused on shaping our technologies and trends on the market, the way we present the product, always looking forward to catch new ideas and innovative solutions.
- Also I was responsible in a team for organizing the Ms. Faculty event, I worked with pontential sponsors. The offer to them included: company's poster mentioning (we had 4 separated buildings each one is about 8 levels high, and all of them are only in city center; about 150 ad boards along all the territories), exclusive photo set made at setting of your company (gym, clothes store, restaurant), publishing them afterwards in the vk.com group with daily number of visitors about 200-300 people (2k members), mentioning the name of the sponsor at the final event or putting their label on the final poster (3x3 metres) with photos of all participants. The number of VJ's mention times could be increased if sponsor provides an award for participants (15% percent discount card or card with the money on it you can spend afterwards).
2. Responsibility. “We accept that our actions must accord with the interests of society. Above all else, we place our products and services in the interests of the safety of people, the economic use of resources, and environmental sustainability.”
- During the period of making the project "Ms Faculty" I took my responsibility over the sponsorship packages and worked on finding the proper ground to make the final stage. The most stressful thing was the responsibility to our partners and sponsors, to the people who have bought tickets. We did our best to avoid any fails in the final.
- I worked many times as a phd assistant, focusing on my own project which always had strict deadlines (for publishing in journals or conference proceedings). Moreover, I had responsibility to my supervisor and didn't want to get him ashamed of a bad student or to show the lack of competence.
3. Initiative and Determination. “We act on our own initiative, with an entrepreneurial but accountable spirit, and demonstrate determination in pursuing our goals.”
- When I applied for international scientific conference, I confirmed for myself all the level of responsibility that I am taking. That was my initiative, fully my topic, research, analysis and there is noone else asnwerable for my work except me. Supervisor in this case was just a helper, an editor fixing small bugs and mistakes. And I got the point of defending my research in front of scientific community, who work in this field for years. There is no chance you can show an incompetence of any kind.
- I've shown an iniatiative during my work at Teletask, offering the head the new concept of showroom (home automation). I was inspired by international exhibitions and the concepts of already existing showrooms made by famous european and korean companies. One of the main feature of the new concept was to combine mobility of the showroom and making it naturally visible - like you are standing not on the "peace of artificial space", but being in someone's flat, touching all mechanisms of remote control by yourself.
4. Openness and Trust. “We inform our associates, business partners, and investors in a timely and open fashion of important developments within our company. This is the best basis for a trustful relationship.”
- At times in Teletask, we assured our clients that they will not be alone with any kind of troubles, our service and technical support won't stop working even if the repsentation agency will close. In this case other one (Teletask representative from other nearest town) will take responsibility and do all the work for free. This rule I took as one of the main and keep following this way nowadays with people, business partners and so on. "If I did a job, I never drop the responsibility afterwards".
- I was never afraid of giving some of work to others and share the results. I got used to trust people and partners since university.
5. Fairness. “We view mutual fairness as a condition of our corporate success when dealing with each other and with our business partners.”
- My career motto is always connected to fairness. In any case I won't cheat on customers or partners.
6. Reliability, Credibility, and Legality. “We promise only what we can deliver, accept agreements as binding, and respect and observe the law in all our business transactions.”
- I always came up with a result when I gave promises, accepted agreements and followed them strictly, meeting deadlines in time. I haven't gone byond the law even if I was offered this opportunity.
7. Cultural Diversity. “We are aware of our company's regional and cultural origins and at the same time regard diversity as an asset, as well as a precondition of our global success.”- During my exchange studies I got to know a lot of people from different countries and it's not just about the places they are from. It is more about culture difference and naturally I feel how to find a common ground almost to any of people around me.
