Well, the week has been an interesting one, to say the least. Between the Red Cross and starting my new tutoring schedule, I got pretty tired, not that I am complaining. It was all worth it

Forgive me for playing devil's advocate here but... are you SURE she's of african-america descent? Pacific Islander's have been known to have similar hair. I understand what you are saying but there may be more to the story then meets the eye. :)
Well as I said, sometimes Pacific Islander's have similar hair and skin. Maybe she's just a wonderful mix of a few different races. :) It's not a bad thing by any means. You tend to pick up all the strong qualities of each background.
Well, I Googled Pacific Islander and looked at pics...I guess it is a possibility. I finally got up off my butt and when out to my car where I had the paperwork that should tell me her race. As I walked out to my car I was betting Pacific Islander, but her paperwork said that she was of "mixed racial heritage including; Indian, caucasian, and Hispanic" However, the funny part was the way the doctor phrased it. He made it apparent that her adoptive mother gave him this information and to me, with the way he phrased it, took away some of her credibility. I don't know, the girl is beautiful and she shouldn't have been surprised that someone thought that she was black. I still don't think that her parents have communicated properly with her on this issue.
Agreed. That is a little startling now that I think about it. Though, on the flip side, maybe she has encountered racism through this. I have a friend who is from El Salvador and lives in San Jose, CA. He gets called "Mexican" all the time and hates it. It's nothing against Mexicans, it's just people are too stoopid to find out what his ethnicity really is.
