Smokin'!

The police are called to the Doe household.

A young girl, Jane Doe* age 17, is threatening suicide. Her reasoning: she is being punished by her parents for having sex with her 17-year-old boyfriend; her parents have moved all of her belongings out of her bedroom.

In retaliation, Jane tells the police that her father smokes marijuana in front of her. Jane goes into her parents' bedroom, removes a drawer with several items of drug paraphernalia, and takes it to the living room to show the police.

As a prosecutor in my state, the proper charging decision is:

A) Burglary
B) Assisted Suicide
C) Child Abuse
D) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
E) Theft (under $300, a misdemeanor)
F) None of the Above
