Yuck

Today is going to be a fantastic culinary day, but for crappy, crappy reasons.

I'm pretty sure I'm sick.

It's serious enough that both cats are purring and laying on me. Not to mention the revolting green and red streaming from my nose and eye.

So that means two things...hot cider and Bruet Lombard. I managed to turn the awful, cheapest apple juice in Harps into warm-fuzzy-delectable cider with the addition of a few spices I've been hoarding. Few shakes cinnamon, one shake nutmeg, capfull of vanilla extract, tiny drop of orange extract, and today two whole cloves for analgesic purposes. Yum. Also, don't forget a 1/2 cup of both brown and white sugar. That improves the flavour considerably.

Bruet Lombard is something I found on a medieval cooking site. Last Yule, I made it for the feast after my oathing. It's a chicken stock base and got eggs and a few weird ingredients to compensate for some that dont exist anymore. And it's great for when you're sick. Not sure why, but it works. Might be the nutmeg in it or the ginger.

So. That said, TO THE CROCKPOT.
