1.) If you were on your deathbed and you wanted to tell your children - or the young people to whom you are close - the three most important things that you’ve learned in life, what would they be?
Be true to yourself. Never be a hypocrite of who you are. Never forget who you are. People change to adapt to others likings. You should have pride in your culture. Just because you have pride does not mean you have to be shoving it in anyone’s face.
College is way better and WAY easier than High School. Going to college is like taking a tour around the world. You meet people from different cultures, backgrounds, races, religions, sexual preference. If people take advantage of the full college experience, they will see that there is far more important things in life than just an education. There is a maturity level in college far better than in high school. You can become an individual and still be respected, as in high school, you are taunted for almost the same thing.
Never take anything you can not control as “personal” Sometimes people will criticize you for little things, I took it as advice and it has saved me many heartaches.
2.) What gives you the greatest joy satisfaction and renewal in your life, and how could you do more of it?
Causing Desmadres, or protesting injustices. How I can do more of it, I have no idea.
3.) Who are you without your job, your money (or possessions)? Describe in detail.
I have met a lot of people and have seen a lot of things. Many experiences that I lived and seen firsthand have molded me in to the person I am. MEChA is a very critical aspect in my life. Everything I have done in my college career, I owe it to MEChA. What made me join MEChA? Maybe I was looking for myself and who I was. Now that I know who I am, I know where and what I can do.
4.)What activities could you add to your life that would be a source of richness and joy? (Something you don’t do but would like to try)
I would love to learn to play the cello. I would love to learn how to play the violin. I think people learning an instrument, you can not go wrong. I want to go to church more and get more spiritual, I am currently in a process of getting in Good standing with THE CREATOR in Heaven knowing that I am actually trying to be in his graces. Not that I don’t deserve it, pero you know, I would rather ask him for something when I deserve it, rather than because I want it. I also I want to know what I can do to help liberate people’s minds from the Eurocentric view.
5.) Think of someone you admire deeply - and explain why. My mother, she has a motherly love. Mother is always right. In Sporting games, I like the fact that athletes always give credit to their mothers. It’s always “Hi MOM or I LOVE YOU MOM”, or with the tattoos people joke around with, that say “Mom” Mothers are something really special. She puts up with so much that I do not realize it.
