Oooooo Oooooo Ooo OooooOOOooo

Holidays were fun. I re-watched Seasons 2 and 3 of the Wire, read a Belle and Sebastian biography ("rock-ography"? What do you call a book about a band?), and made a couple of mix-CDs which I'm going to revise. Whenever I do a mix, I find myself glancing at my notes and grimacing when I see it's all acoustic, slow-stuff or pop, and then I scramble to throw on something heavier and it never works. I managed to fit a nice loud opening on this one but every other rocker on there just seems to really stick out to me. Anyways, I'm actually pretty proud of what remains, so here it is:

Zeppelin "Custard Pie"
Hum "I'd Like Your Hair Long"
Hall and Oates "You Make My Dreams (Come True)"
Dylan "I'll Keep It With Mine"
Channels "Storytime (In the Street of Spies)" (this one's coming out)
Buddy Holly "Early in the Morning"
Marshall Crenshaw "You're My Favorite Waste of Time"
Marvin Gaye "All The Way Around" (which I'm realizing is my favorite song of all-time)
XTC "Ball and Chain"
Jawbox "Reel" (this one's coming out too)
Jonathan Fire*Eater "A Night in the Nursery"
Creedence "As Long As I Can See the Light"
Zombies "This Will Be Our Year"

I'm thinking about changing the XTC song - maybe "Towers of London" instead - and finding something to go ahead of the JF*E song. Beatles "Baby's in Black" is going on there somewhere too. I'd really love to stick Neko Case's version of "Train from Kansas City" on there, but Steph's friend apparently stole my CD forever. Bitch.
