Wait a minute - I remember a game very similar to this. You'd be right. Last year, a panfandom game was started with the exact same premise and the exact same name. Due to real life issues, the mods were unable to keep the game running at the time. This is the same game, just revised and starting anew. Sorry, no plotlines from the previous game will ( Read more... )

Heya! I know I'm full of questions and suggestions, so, as always, feel free to ignore me. But I was wondering if there was any thoughts to adding a "journaling" aspect to this game? That is, a community that characters could post to via in-game laptops/computers/what not? (Such a thing could mysteriously be provided by the hotel.) In past games, I've found such a comm was very useful for keeping the game moving along. That people could chat over the "network" and then make arrangements to meet "in person" in the actual RP comm. Right now, we have to either hope someone replies to our "open" posts (which seems haphazard) or ask for RP via the OOC comm and hope someone replies. Both of which work, but adding a third level might be nice.

I thought I'd throw it out there. Also, as Avon is a computer technician, it's entirely possible he could try to set up some sort of short-distance, hotel-only network in game/in character. Of course, that would still require the mods to create a new comm for everyone to join, and possibly some new rules to go along with it. But I do think it would inhance the game and make player interaction easier. I thought I'd suggest it now, before the new applications were processed, so if you did think it was viable, it could be set it up for the new arrivals.

Otherwise, feel free to ignore me. :) I just really want to play and I'm finding it a bit difficult to get started.

That sounds like a great idea. I'm always up for suggestions on how to improve how a game is running. Do you have a comm from another rp game that you could link me to that has this strategy? I'd just like to have a look-see to get a better idea of this and how it works. :-)

And yeah - new games can be difficult to get off the ground. =/ Some people join up to a game with all intention of playing, and others join up to a game with intention to play but... never actually get around to the playing part. As my experience with games has always gone.
