radio radio, gimmie gimmie

there was such a cool 2 hours of radio this morning/lunch - yoko ono was on desert island discs & i must say i've been loving many of the recent programmes, despite my initial trepidation about kirsty young taking over (hated her on channel 5 'news'..) i liked the way previous presenter sue lawley would kind of tick people off in a matronly manner, most memorably telling jarvis cocker off for his years spent on the dole doing nowt! but kirsty's great on DID & you get a more revealing/relaxed interview than well, anywhere else really..
i was wondering what records yoko would pick other than the predicted sean/john lennon, but there was piaf (take a wild guess which rather fitting & well-known song of hers was chosen?!) & amiina - yay!
more musical joys were found on the following i'm sorry i haven't a clue with a priceless rendition of madonna's 'hanky panky' set to the tune of the archers sung by stephen fry! (i am not making this up!)
then on bbc7 bill bailey interviewed simon pegg, who revealed (well it was news to me at any rate) that more Spaced has been considered as an idea, maybe an hour special to tie up loose ends. i thought series 2 ended perfectly personally but would drool with giddy excitement should anything happen. my fave exchange in the interview was bailey's observation of how their respective careers were going - "while you were doing mission impossible i was doing a documentary on otters." ha ha!
