The Year in Review
October 16th celebrates my one year anniversary in Orlando. I thought I would recap all of the things that have happened in this amount of time:
October 2004
15th - I leave for Orlando. The departure time is postponed as someone broke into my sisters house hours before hand, which I actually witnessed but had no idea. Left a key with Sierra to feed the dogs and then hit the road with my sister and her boyfriend. A navagation error in Tennessee sends us across the state instead of straight down making us two hours behind schedule. Get into the Orlando area around 10 am on October 16th.
Have no bed for two days and slept a total of 4 hours over 3 days. Met my neighbours Scott and Jeremy and began classes on the 21st.
November 2004
Cooked first Thanksgiving Dinner as it was impractical to go home. A packaging 'error' leaves me eating Thanksgiving Chicken instead of Turkey.
December 2004
Pass my first two classes with relative ease. The day after I get home for Christmas break, 3 feet of snow fall effectivley ruining my break. Met Heather Robbins, my first girlfriend. On Thursday, Dec 30th at roughly 3 am I am admitted to the emergency room for chest pains, learn that my lung has collapsed and am operated on about 7 hours later. My lung recolapses on the 2nd of January, postponing my release until the 6th.
January 2005
Spend the month of January at home recooperating from my surgery. Stitches come out on the 21st. Begin classes at Full Sail near the end of the month.
February 2005
Readmitted to the emergency room in Orlando now. Diagnosed with pleurisy. Finish my photography portfolio at the last minute but didn't miss a single lab. Heather breaks up with me a few days shy of a 2 month mark.
March 2005
Spring break. Don't really remember it though.
April 2005
Being Digital Cinematography class. Make contact with classmate Jason Mitchell who becomes business partner later and Lee Shapiro, source of all creative inspirtation.
May 2005
Being a particuarly useless month of 'directing' class.
June 2005
Shot my first project on film on Kodak's Vision 7279 stock with Darcy Gibbs, a fellow Hoosier who becomes a partner in crime.
July 2005
Summer break that was way too short. Meet Kristen and Carolyn near the end of the month, went to my first club, actually danced in front of other people.
August 2005
Kristen and Carolyn leave for college, leaving me again without a life outside of Full Sail.
September 2005
Shoot 2nd and 3rd film at Full Sail. Win fame as Best Boy Electric on the set of "Amateur".
October 2005
Begun business plan with Jason Mitchell on Certified Epic Productions, LLC.
