Has anyone noticed that no one can pronounce "social security" anymore? Listen carefully on the news...they just say "Sosh-security". The first person I noticed doing this was our highly articulate president, but it's either spread, or "social security" is literally a hard phrase to say.
Behind only the Constitution, the environment, gay rights, and our reputation with the rest of the world, the biggest victim of Bush's eight-year reign is going to be American English. Ebonics, cyber-speak and George W. Bush are going to create a horrible amalgam of "OMG, WTF r u doign firin' teh nucular mizzles at that r3tirement h0me? Dem niggaz ain't got no sosh-security."
English majors, you are like the invisible boy, who can only go invisible when no one is looking at him, near the end of Mystery Men. Your time has come. You must defend the language from these evilspeakers.
