Skynet precursor

Google is an amazing thing. Our children will absolutely take for granted that they can find the answer to almost anything with one quick search.

How difficult must it have been for authors back in the day? They actually had to stick to their own vocabulary and areas of knowledge, or do extensive research (in other books or interviewing people) to get all the facts they needed. I am lucky. Need to know how fast a horse runs so the travel in this chapter is accurate? Google it. Need to know if the word you just invented has been used by someone else? Google it. Google replaces the dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia, and most verbal teachings. It can help you solve most any problem that has been solved before.

It's actually a great tool for increasing independence. People can fix small things on their cars, their computers, etc. by following someone else's tutorial. Never in the history of mankind has it been so easy to obtain knowledge. If it were possible to formalize the system and remove "wrong answers" to problems, we'd basically have the universal library of knowledge concept depicted in many sci-fi shows/movies.

This is all thanks to people who actually submit content and answer questions online. I feel bad that I am only a consumer of information, not a producer. I tend to only produce frivolous things :P
