It could be because no one ever seems to read my posts. Or maybe because of the greener pastures of Twitter and Facebook. Whatever it is, LJ, I have need of you now. In 10 days I am beginning a whirlwind, cross-country journey. Other than three days at home, I will be gone from Nov 13 to Dec 7.
The plan is still coelescing. But the round up of cities looks like: Indy, Chicago, Indy, Evansville (Home!), Memphis, Little Rock, Amarillo, Albuquerque, Flagstaff, Phoenix, Tijuana, San Diego, San Fransisco, Salt Lake City, Denver, Omaha, Chicago, Indy and Evansville.
This trip is the end result of four years of planning a Route 66 trip that there was never enough time for. Until I got laid off that is. Now there is nothing but time. And I decided early on that I was not going to sit around waiting for things to happen. I am going to make the most of this time, even while I worry and job hunt and imagine scenes from Dorthea Lange's photography.
So in addition to knitting and planning WoD campaigns and reading more and taking time to actually consider what I want to be when I grow up, I'm going to see America.
And so are you, LJ! On my way I will be posting pictures and blogs from my travels to share with friends and family. Turns out that it doesn't matter if no one reads you, for some things I want a record. And the things that make Twitter and Facebook so attractive make them not suitable for long form posts and heavy pictures.
So just you wait, LJ, there are going to be some gorgeous pictures and amazing stories soon enough. That will hopefully be enough love to get you through another lean year!
