Weekend and more

So my lenten indulgences are turning out to be less about doing new indulgent things -- footrubs, spa treatments, etc. -- and more about recognizing the things in my life that are indulgent. The little things that i do most days that make life worth living. Which is a really cool, unexpected discovery.

So many of them revolve around food and friends. This weekend was no exception. Friday night Bella and i lazed around and read Lost Girl$ and then snuggled and made out a bit before heading off to rp with friends -- with guilt-free Mt. Dew AND Funions!

Then on Saturday i headed off to Cincy to vist Stei! There was too much of a good time to tell it all here. And so much of it was indulgent (from the Arroz Con Pollo Saturday night to the fruit stuffed french toast Monday morning). As we generally do when i visit Stei, we ate at several good local restaurants, visited art museums, talked relationships and politics equally and got lots of really good sleep! (i only wish her apartment were warmer! Or that i remembered to dress for the artic tundra!)

Yesterday and today are proving a bit harder... i'm having a little trouble with depression that i am working on hiding from everyone, including myself, because they all have plenty of their own things to worry about. It makes appreciating the small things in life harder and instead makes me just want to crawl into bed and not come back out. In fact, i'm considering that as a plan for tonight... seems dreadfully indulgent. But maybe not the life affirming kind of indulgent. We'll see.... Check back tomorrow!
