There's a Darkness In My Soul...I Know What Waits For Me...

I swear 'Something Evil, Something Dangerous' by Justin Hayward is the only redeeming factor for The Howling IV, and all the Howling sequels suck (with like one redeeming factor per sequel). ^_ ( Read more... )

Don't forget 'Zombie Mum', and Lionel is indeed HAWT. Am I the only one who wants a Rat-Monkey for a pet? ^^;

Now if only I could come across the uncut 104 min. version. The copy Columbia House has was 97 mins. ^^;

Yes, I do know there isn't much good horror out there, especially nowadays. I was raised on horror movies (I mean, my mom went and saw 'The Howling' while pregnant). 'Dead-Alive' is also a horror-comedy, but it's also possibly the goriest movie of all time. :D And I can name several horror movies that had a great stroy. All of Romero's 'Dead' movies, 'The Howling' and 'Creepshow' (though that's more like five seperate stories' all come to mind. 'Monster Squad' is another good one.

And yes, horror movies do help me with both my art block as well as my writer's block, but there are many other things that can help with those. ^_^

I haven't had the time to answer the Arcade Lyric. ^^; And I'm not sure if I can find the 104 min. version of Dead-Alive in America...and I don't think UK DVDs would work on my computer. ^^;

Yes, 'Exorcist' is classic How could I have forgotten that one? ^^; And are you taslking about the '13 Ghosts' that came out a few years back or the really old one from the 1950's/60's? Because both versions are really good, but the original has a really creepy errie vibe to it that was lost in the gory remake. Ooh, and the remake of 'The Haunting is really, really good'. XD ( ... )

I have to agree on Plan 9. I mean, I don't think a movie written by a drunken crossdresser who insisted that Bela Lugossi wear his Dracula costume during filming can be taken seriously. I have a copy of Plan 9 in VHS. I've been wanting to get it on DVD.

Well, you'd be surprised by what Rob Zombie can do actually. The guy really, really knows his horror as seen with 'House Of 1000 Corpses' and 'The Devil's Rejects' (the latter of those two being more believable). I haven't seen a 'making of' for the original 13 Ghosts though. Now I'm intrigued.

Eww. I've had a 'Why the Hell did I watch that' moment after watching all of 'The Howling' sequels. Ironically enough, 'The Howling III' almost seemed a bit kid-friendly. I saw it when I was nine. :S

I read something on Wiki awhile back about a Canadian ZOmbie movie about a boy who had a zombie as a pet. Are you referring to the same movie? ^_o

Well, the earliest version isn't gory like the new version. The original can given one the creep without it. It's a really good movie and has the lady who played the Wicked Witch of the West from 'The Wizard Of Oz' in it playing the housekeeper (but she was a more serious character in the 13 Ghosts).

Fido! That's it. I think Wiki said it was Canadian. And you don't have to apologize. Just because I'm a horror fan doesn't mean that I don't enjoy other movie genres.

I remember seeing the poster for Army Of Darkness 2 at the movie rental store when I was like maybe five or six and being a bit creeped out by that, but intrigued at the same time. And all three Army of Darkness movies are classic. XD

Boomsticks! <3

I've seen all three Evil Dead movies when I was little and I saw the thrid one a few years back, and I'm not big on 'edited for tv' version. 'The Howling' comes to mind when Eddie Quist says 'Let me give you a peace of my mind', then they cut out the next part. 'Return Of The Living Dead also comes to mind when Trash says 'Have you ever fantisized...about being killed' (they cut out the her 'Tombstone Lapdance' scene, which wouldn't be so bad if you didn't know it was supposed to be there). And I haven't seen 'The Saw'. I was supposed to borrow it from my cousin along with a few other movies. She's into the 'modern' slasher stuff.

I've seen all of the 'Alien' movies, but I haven't seen 'The Descent', and you're right...'Event Horizon' wasn't that good, and I still haven't seen 'The Cell' yet. I heard the costumes in that movie were inspired by Brom's Art (He's my favourite dark fantasy artist ( ... )

As a fan of the 'Resident Evil/Biohazard' games, I have to say that I didn't like the 'Resident Evil' movie very much. The only redeeming factor it had was that they used the 'Licker' monster (which I haven't seen since 'RE2'. I didn't even wanna see t 'Resident Evil: Apocalypse' (and I'm a huge fan of the 'Nemesis' too). ^^;

Nah, a different 'Ghost Ship movie'. It was about an Itlaian Cruise Ship that disappeared like 40-50 years before the story took place. ^^; Thought a ship fueled by Germans does sound a little intriguing.

HeeHee. Basically It Stinks Too. That's cute. XD

She hasn't given me any nightmares yet, but she might within the next few days. ^_^ I'd keep my Rat-Monkey in a cage and feed it live chickens.

I read at Wikipedia that the UK got the full104 minute version, which was really uncommon given the censorship laws there at the time.

Ooh! Here's some 'Braindead/Dead-Alive' fanart I found on DA awhile back. The artist who drew this did the 'American Witch' video for Rob Zombie: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/38576887/ XD
