Disgaea works differently than I am used to, but not so differently that playing it is counter-intuitive. (Which is more than I can say for my brief attempt at SRW!) I also took some time to sort of ease myself into it. By which I mean I ran through the first (non-tutorial) stage about 4 or 5 times in a row before moving on because that's how many runs it took for me to get all the way through without any of my generics getting K.O.'d. But after that (and an experimental run through the item world of some gum), it's been pretty... I don't want to say easy, but not hard. Fun is certainly an apt adjective, considering I've logged like six hours or something on it without at any point wanting to tear my hair out. So there's that.
I've also played some of the Layton game, which is quite possibly even more excellent than the first. I really like the minigames in this game. None of this "click pieces as you collect them to have a robodog built for you" nonsense.
I named my hamster Grif. He's orangish-yellowish, super fat, and complains and whines for food when you make him exercise! It's perfect. I kind of sat and stared for a second when I got the hamster and had to name it because, of course, I'd named the robodog in the first game Grif, too. It's a conspiracy, I swear. :| Also, I think this game is just generally a little harder than the last one. I feel like I'm using hint coins significantly more often (that is to say, more than, like, for 3 puzzles the entire game), but that may be because it's late and I am not in an ideal mental state for a puzzle game. :V
I think I might play DDR some tomorrow if I get around to it. Apparently the Wii version is super hard because you're supposed to wave the Wiimote around at the same time? Yeah, I don't think I have the coordination for that. But Jo says that that can be turned off, so that's good.
ANYWAY GUYS I HAVE A 50 DOLLAR GIFT CARD TO AMAZON AND A 25 DOLLAR ONE FOR WALMART RECOMMENDATIONS FOR WHAT I SHOULD BUY? Or I guess I could just wait a couple of months for Ace Attorney Investigations to come out since I am pretty much definitely buying that anyway. But that would involve patience. I probably will wait until I've beaten Layton and Disgaea before buying anything, though. :V
