So today I learned that Grif appears to be ambidextrous. (brb making terrible jokes involving this and the name "Dexter".) I was derping around and came across a wiki article on Grif saying that he appears to be left-handed in the animated clip, and I popped in my Reconstruction DVD to check and, sure enough, in the shooting bits, Grif's left hand is the one on the trigger. I'm not entirely sure it's not just because it's a more convenient hand position given where he was taking cover relative to where he was shooting, but on the other hand some of the gestures earlier in the clip he does with his left hand when I would've used my right, but on the other other hand, given his position on screen it might've been easier to draw said gestures with the left hand because the right would've crossed over his body and man did I hit the "thinking way too hard about this" a while ago. (The ambidextrous part comes in in that Grif always has his right hand on the trigger in more regular canon for what are probably obvious reasons.)
GRIF'S DEXTERITY IS SRS BZNS AND CRUCIAL TO PROPER CHARACTERIZATION.
Mostly I'm surprised I didn't notice it myself. Not like I watched the Animated clip a dozen times over making icons because I couldn't get it to rewind or fastforward so if I missed the exact frame I wanted.... Admittedly I didn't make any shooting icons, but still. I love stupid little details like that.
Sob so I'm probably going to app Waspinator at Kingdoms because anon meme got me thinking about his characterization and holy crap is Waspinator a joy to play. And I decided that Rattrap will be my second after Phoenix at The Corps, because normal human and alien robot is a good contrast and they'll be on opposite sides of the spectrum and Rattrap will be a good example of how negative emotion doesn't necessarily mean evil character. Have brainstormed usernames a little. I'm amazed shutuprattrap isn't taken, though wereallgonnadie, allgonnadie, and all_gonna_die all are, with only allgonnadie being a Rattrap journal. (With only two icons, so so much for the brief and fleeting hope of being able to steal icons instead of making them myself for once. M-maybe Seibertron's screencap galleries will be back by the time The Corps is ready.) I also like knievel_rat--Knievel Mode is the name he gives to his Transmetal vehicle mode, though I'm not entirely sure why. Rattrap does not do much in the way of stunts and it's not like it's even a motorcycle. ...Could possibly rewatch YGO Abridged for a stealable accent joke. I'm sure I had other ideas but it's 5 in the morning why am I awaaaakkkeeee ;_;
