MINI SURVEY-PPPLLLEEEAAASSSEEEEE!
So, I have a few questions...for people who have multiple non-shitty tattoos.i'd especially appreciate responces from non-shitty tattoo artists, people with noticible mods, people who have been on TV for simmilar things before. Basicly, for the re-cap, I was supposed to be on Miami INk last season but got into a car accident and chickened out of my taping. They want me to be on it again this year. The "boyfriend" does not think this is a good idea. He believes that it cheepens tattooing, that it is not accurate. I believe that while it may cheepen it and not be the most accurate potrayl, it is however, doing more good than bad. I believe that MI and Inked show America that doctors, lawyers, momds, dads, and church people have tattoos- that the old stigma and stereotype that only bikers, bums, vets, and outlaws get tattoos, is far far far from true. And for me, someone who is very interested in the mainstreaming of subcultures and the comodification of subcultures, this show is like a big deal.I believe that these shows do make a positive impression and impact upon their average viewer.
1.) Given the oppportunity, would you appear on a show like Miami Ink?
2.) Do you believe that shows like Miami Ink and Inked mess with the integrity of tattooing? If so, do you think the negative aspects and effects of a show focusing on tattooing outweigh the positives?
3.) Do you think I should do it?
