1. Start of with your image. Crop 100x100, 72 Resolution. Crop however you like. I used a picture of
Vanessa Anne Hudgens. Take your base and do what ever you like to it. I think I just sharpened mine.
2. Duplicate your base and set it to Screen 25%.

3. Next, go to Layer->New Adjustment Layer->Color Balance. Say ok and type in these settings:
Midtones: -26, -5, +22
Shadows: -6, +5, +10

4. Next, go to Layer->New Fill Layer->Solid Color. I used this light blue color: #E4F7FC and set to Color Burn 100%.

5. Add another Fill layer and type in: #CACE9E which is like a gold color. Set to Soft Light 40%.

6. Next is the Selective Color Layer. Go to Layer->New Adjustment Layer->Selective Color and put in these settings:
Reds
Cyan: -93
Magenta: 0
Yellow: +100
Black: 0
Yellows
Cyan: -100
Magenta: +10
Yellow: +27
Black: 0
Neutrals
Cyan: +32
Magenta: -7
Yellow: -46
Black: 0

7. Then I added a hue/satuation layer. Layer->New Adjustment Layer->Hue/Saturation. Put in these settings:
Master: 0, +30, 0

8. Then add another Selective Color Layer. Put in these settings:
Reds
Cyan: 0
Magenta: 0
Yellow: +100
Black: 0
Yellows
Cyan: 0
Magenta: 0
Yellow: +100
Black: 0
Neutrals
Cyan: 0
Magenta: 0
Yellow: +41

9. Then I added another hue/satuation layer. Put in these settings:
Master: 0, +13, 0
Red: 0, +10, 0
Yellow: 0, +12, 0

10. Then add yet another Selective Color Layer. Put in these settings:
Yellows
Cyan: 0
Magenta: 0
Yellow: -34
Black: 0

11. You can add what ever you want to your icon. Add textures, brushes and whatnot. I decided to added some textures by
peoplemachines and
