Hot (and Nerdy) or Not?

There must have been some kind of hot_nerds vibe in the air yesterday. I found myself thinking about the comm. while I was getting ready in the morning, then I came home last night and saw that hot_nerds had reanimated itself. Hooray!

Oh, I'm pretty sure you don't need a college education to be a nerd. If memory serves, we have a few nerds in here that only have a H.S. education, but continue to learn on their own. I think the consensus we'd sort of established was that one of the defining qualities of a nerd is a passion for learning, not necessarily a wealth of education.

I tend to agree! And let's face it, a passion for learning is a lot cheaper than an advanced education. :-P

Amen to that. I'm four years out and still paying on loans. I had a lot less than many people I know despite having moderate scholarships, a part time job, and the Montgomery G.I. Bill (And yet, that still wasn't enough to pay for college at an in state public university. Funny that).
