So, the whole Ricky saga has started up again. Over the last twenty-four hours or so, there has been incessant, hysterical press speculation; ranging from he's
going to Real for 65m Euros and a 9m salary, to Chelsea
jumping in to offer more, to the Uncles (and Bosco) deciding they want
80m and a 12m salary PLUS two Real players of their choice, to Real being
a bit dubious about Ricky's dodgy knees. [In the interests of full disclosure, though, the Amauri possibility is exciting me OMGTHISMUCH! ;)]
The important thing to remember, though, is that at the moment of posting this entry NOTHING IS OFFICIAL. I am trying my very hardest not to work myself into a state about this. After January's nightmare I started resigning myself to the idea of him leaving in the summer: after all, the Uncles had made it pretty clear that they valued money over him. I am advising myself that there's not much point in giving myself an ulcer about something until it has actually genuinely happened. Of course, I'm not much good at taking my own advice. *wry grin* As
pharrezychica pointed out to me last night, though, there are Italian elections next week. Is Berlusconi really stupid enough to piss off so many people so close to an election? Answers on a postcard, and please try not to swear. *g* [On the other hand, it could be a massive publicity stunt - if
he backs out, the electorate could swing in his favour. Or am I being overly cynical?]
In the meantime, I offer by way of distraction twenty-odd pictures from Leonardo's presentation. Yup, that's my answer to all of life's problems: pretty pictures.
And, if you can't help fretting and worrying, we can all do it here together, hmm?
