Friday fretting
The transfer window doesn't open for another month, yet, but the rumour mill is already in overdrive. It would be stretching it a little to call this a news post, as it is 90% speculation; but, if you're ready, here we go:
*takes deep breath* So, last week it looked as though it was a straight choice between Gorky and Lotti. I'm sure it won't surprise you to read that the Uncles may have made a TOTAL FUCKING HASH of it all - as, not only has Gorky officially made a full transfer to Bordeaux (that one is confirmed, folks; sadly no rumour here), but there is gathering intensity over reports that Leonardo (OHAI) will be confirmed as coach on Monday. From a purely shallow point of view (which, let's face it, is my habitual standpoint *g*) the thought of seeing Leo in a suit, striding up and down and hollering makes me shiver with delight; but, more importanly, it will give Guus Hiddink the opportunity to say 'I told you so', because, apparently, Carlo's just like him. If Lotti does go to Chelsea, he may be taking Andrea Pirlo and his bad hair with him. Oh, and the Ricky to Real thing isn't going away, either. But, then, we knew that one'd run and run.
Still with me? Those are the goings, what about the comings? Are there any rumours of potential replacements floating about? Well, yes. Apparently, we are after Walter Gargano from Napoli, and (wait for it) Aston Villa's Gareth Barry. Forgive me if I don't jump up and down with glee. Oh, and Berlusconi would quite like Cristiano Ronaldo, although it's not clear whether that's for the team, or if he just fancies a hot night with the Portuguese Man o'Sex. On the plus side, Phil Senderos likes us more than Arsenal, so that's good.
*breathes out* Some or none of these may or may not come to pass. It's going to be a knackering Silly Season all round, I fear. I shall be dealing it in my usual way - by shoving my head down the back of the sofa, and not coming out until September. There's no point in giving ourselves an ulcer over stuff until it's happened, right? Right. Onto happier news.
It's Ambro's birthday today! Cake and vin santo all round.
Quackers and Stehf Shtef Sthefany are getting married on July 7th. Is it me, or is that all a bit ... sudden? *waggles eyebrow* Either, someone's up the duff, or she's on a crackdown of his webcam habits. Whatever the reason, tante auguri to the happy couple!
New kit. What are your thoughts on it?
I'm really, really not sure about the white collar.
Collar on the away kit's nice, though.
And I love the little label.
Still, it's better than the 07-08 kit, by a long shot.
Finally, it's That Day on Sunday. And Fiorentina are planning a party. Bless. Let's hope our boys got the memo, and don't show him up this time, hmm? Because there's the small consideration of automatic CL qualification at stake. [Mind you, the last time we had to go through pre-qualifying, we walked off with the damn thing, so maybe it's not all bad...]
