Paolo Maldini proves, once again, what a perfect, classy gentleman he is, as he is saying nice things about Claudio Ranieri ahead of the weekend's game. The rest of us, of course, are all foaming at the mouth, and baying things of ... a rather more unsavoury nature. Like 'DIE, JUVENTUS SCUM, DIE! (Apart from my Big Brazilian, of course. No harm shall befall him, other than that which I will bring forth upon him should the miserable bastard put two past us again.)' Or something like that.

On the subject of gracious defenders, Beppe Favalli has been voted second-best veteran defender in Serie A. Now, I don't wish to cast aspersions upon the ratings used, but, given that he is second to Javier Zanetti, you have to ask the question 'Where the buggery-fuck is Maldini?'. Well, you do, don't you? (No offence, Beppe.)

Apparently, everyone wants Gorky. It will come as a surprise to precisely no-one, but Yoann Gourcuff is in great demand. Well, to no-one except Lotti and the Uncles, that is. Cooome to White Hart Lane, Gorky. You'll look smashing in those socks.

And, on the subject of folk who are no longer with us, things are definitely looking up for Fat Ron. Not content with scoring goals left, right and centre for Corinthians, apparently Dunga's giving him come-hither looks, as well. All together now, 'Awww, BLESS!'

I mentioned this in my journal the other day, but, Canadian readers, what are you doing in July? Why, you're going to see Billy Costacurta on tour with Zinedine Zidane, and take LOTS AND LOTS OF PICTURES OF HIM FOR ME. [Apparently, Rino's going, too, and Franco Baresi.]

It pains me to say this, but it looks as though He's not going away any time soon. Le sigh.
