All my life I've been sowing the wounds, But the seeds sprout a lachrymal cloud

So Florida was alright, though it seems like I didn't really do much. No theme parks, no beach, no downtown Tampa/St. Pete, I kind of just lazed around. Not really my fault though, I wasn't able to drive, so I could only do what I could walk to. In any event, at least the weather was nice. The trip back however, not so nice.

Out of the 16 hours I was awake yesterday, 14 were either spent in an airport, or on a plane. The original flight was delayed 5 hours, the second flight we had to be de-iced, so we sat forever, and I just wanted to kill somebody by the time the day is over. But instead, I'm going to rant about a few things. First up.. American Idol, come on down!

Stop it. Stop watching it, stop showing it, stop talking about it. That show is fucking awful. It's a bunch of people with mediocre voices trying to get famous just because they can go through an audition process. Bullshit. They don't sing their own songs, they don't write their own songs, they just mooch off everybody else. And they get handed a recording contract because of it. How about the people that work hard, playing small gigs for 10 years, playing instruments and writing original music? They get shit on. And the judges, Jesus Christ. Talent, I repeat talent, is being judged by Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, and a woman who did a duet with a cartoon character. How's that for crudentials? Please. Oh, and Simon isn't funny. "Who taught you to sing, you should sue them!" HILARIOUS. God I hate that show.

Here's two more people I also hate. This kid on the plane yesterday wearing an 'Abortion Is Homicide' shirt. If that's what you believe in, more power to you, but don't shove it down my throat. How many people have you ever seen wearing an 'I paid for an abortion shirt.' None. Because they have enough sense to know you don't fucking care. Same thing with 'Meat Is Murder,' if you're a vegetarian/vegan, I respect that, but don't care to hear about it, or have you try and convert me. I think I'll make a 'Cows Are Tasty,' shirt. Speaking of dumb people, this woman working the register at a store in the Tampa airport yesterday asked me, when I was buying my magazine (Tiger Beat, for those who were wondering what) "do you want a drink with that?" No, you idiot, if I wanted a drink I'd have reached behind me and grabbed a god damn lemonade. And I'm sure anybody who wants a drink can do the same, if we're thirsty, a suggestion by some asshole working a register isn't going to seal the decision. "Well, I'm kind of thirsty, but let's see what the woman at the register thinks." That'll happen. I don't think this would have pissed me off as much if I wasn't waiting in an airport for 5 hours, but it's still dumb.

Oh and, the New Mars Volta is absolutely incredible. I'll be writing a review for it soon, so if you want to check it out, it'll be up on the release date of March 22nd on Punknews.org. Back to school Sunday, looking forward to that.

P.S. Syracuse University basketball; stop sucking.
