This recipe comes from my brother-in-law's mother, Shirley. thanks Shirley!
Apple Crisp
Peel and slice eight large apples--Romas are best, but Granny Smiths are nice too.
1 Cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup "raw" sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon--or more, if you like it
1/2 a stick of softened margarine
Preheat oven to 375.
Mix dry ingredients, cut the margarine in. The mixture should resemble a coarse cornmeal. Put peeled and sliced apples into a greased baking dish and top with the crumbled mix. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the topping is golden brown. Serve warm or with ice cream or yogurt if you prefer. This recipe also works great with fresh peaches or apricots as well.
