So... I'm hoping to actually start doing that Japanese learning I've been swearing to do before school starts again. The problem is, my old roommate can't find my Japanese book I lent him, and I have zero monies to buy a new one. However, I've found a nifty website with the kanji listed in the order that Japanese school children learn them in. I saw it and jumped up and down. I already know some, though it would be good to brush up, and some of them have more pronunciations than are in the books. However, I'm not sure how many I should try to cram down my throat a day. Today I did five. I'm thinking maybe if I post my progress on LJ, I'll be more inclined to practice. (I'm hoping you guys will beat up on me if I don't.) So...

Today I did:

King, Monarch
Left, Leftwing
Circle, Yen, Round, Smooth
Sound, Noise, Music, Tone
Flower, Blossom

Oh, and if you have any tips on how to learn kanji and how to use them (IE When to use the on or kun pronunciations), I'd be very grateful!
