We were all raised with very strict rules. Some of us just chose to ignore them, while others tried to make themselves look better by following them to the T.

Kyouya has dedicated his life to impress his father. If he somehow finds out his son is in some sort of homosexual relationship, I'm sure Kyouya would be in a lot of trouble. But you're right, it's silly of him to think that when he's in this place. Perhaps he's just overly paranoid...
