For all fandoms: Firstly, write a story you want to write. If you want to challenge yourself with something I've suggested here, go for it. If a different story ends up eating your brain, write that one! I've gotten stories that were 'just what I asked for' that I loved, and ones that took a suggestion I made and ran with it in a totally different direction, and it was all good.
Re: plot elements - I would rather no chan (minor sex/porn) or incest (even if it's supported by canon) and I'd rather less emphasis on romance/'ship than on other parts of human bonds (friendship, family, a person's place in human society). If there's romance, I rather het to slash.
Things I like, lots: I love OCs and minor characters. I love a sense of place and I'm a sense-detail glutton. I also like both plot-driven pieces and 'day in the life' stories that just let the reader experience a short time in life of a character. I'm a fan of the 'Five Things' genre. And I like animals in fic. (Just, not in the man/man's best friend way!) I gave word prompts for each story - feel free to use them for inspiration or ignore them completely.

Fandom: Walter Farley - The Black Stallion
Characters: Abd-al-Rahmen/Shiekh Abu Kub Ben Ishak/Tabari/The Black
Request: I'd like a story best that goes into the life of the bedouin herders and their animals. Gen by pref, but I'm not opposed to some degree of romance. (No incest, no on-screen rape, light on porn if possible, het preferred over slash.)Does not have to exclude Alex/Henry/etc, and could even come from their perspective, if that suits the author best. Plot is a great plus, but I'm cool with sensory-stream-of-conciousness, too. Prompts: surrocco, horn, the battle mares of Mohammed
More info - Farley wrote the Black novels starting in the 1940's (back when Arabians could still be registered as Thoroughbreds) and I think he portrays a somewhat inaccurate picture of the horsemen who were responsible for the Black. I'd like something that went a bit further into the Bedu culture and lifestyle - either as it was in the 1940's/50s, or now. If you can't dig too deep, don't worry - there's so little fic out there that I think any effort on your part will be appreciated. (By me, at any rate, and it's all about me, yes? *g*)

Characters: Any
RequestDetail2: I'd like best a story from the perspective of Grey Beaver or one of White Fang's original 'humans' - anything that captured the flow of life in the PNW. Please, no incest, no on-screen rape, light on porn, no beastiality, etc. Gen/friendship preferred over romance, het preferred over slash. Prompts: moss, mink, milktooth, malachite
More info - Grey Beaver, Mit-san, and Kloo-kooch are the characters I'd most like to see in a story. (Perhaps something dealing with Grey Beaver fighting the whiskey curse, or his son's perspective on White Fang's sale.) (Some of the characterization of the Indians was a product of London's time/experiences, and any tweaking you could do of that would be great.) However, I'd also be happy with a story about Scott and White Fang as well - perhaps one of their adventures on the way back to California.

RequestDetail3: I'd like best a story that explores some part of Jack's history (seen in the 'traveloge' in the origins episode) - particularly either in Africa or India. Please, no incest, no chan, no on-screen rape, light on porn, no beastiality, etc. Gen/friendship preferred over romance, het preferred over slash. prompts: tarnish, muskmelon, tusk, heron
More info - I'm going to break my 'no romance' streak here and say that I wouldn't mind a story of Jack and his first love (I mean, aside from the white horse he was riding so joyously.) Alternatively, something from Aku's perspective, or the Scotsman would also be interesting! The Scotsman's travels must also have been legendary.
Fandom4: Lone Wolf and Cub (manga)
Characters: Any
RequestDetail4: At the risk of freaking out my recepient, I'd be really easy to please with this fandom. (Please, no incest, no chan, no on-screen rape, light on porn, no beastiality, etc. Gen/friendship preferred over romance, het preferred over slash.) Anything from a 'day in the life on the road' to something complex and plot driven, to a 'love and lost' romance to a meditation on swordsmanship. Even a cross over (McCormack's "The Road") could work.
More info - since I submitted the request, I have read more about the Japanese ethnic group the Ainu, and I don't remember if the manga ever had the Babycart Assassin travel that far north. As a challenge, tell the story of that meeting. Another note - in canon, Lone Wolf and Cub is as violent and gory as you can get. (Plus, the status of women wasn't that great.) I don't mind these elements being reproduced in fic, where needed for the story, but tortureporn is not my kink.
