Ok, so they say that the Ringling Bros. circus is the greatest show on earth..... they lied. The Mars Volta in concert is the greatest show on earth. Period. I have never seen a concert come close to being anywhere near as cool as that was. Seriously, The Mars Volta is the greatest band ever. Yeah, I know it may seem like blaspheme (I can't spell, who cares?) but honestly I'd say they are better than Led Zeppelin. I saw Cedric Bixler before the show, around the back... I talked to him for a sec, and took his picture. So there are some advantages to getting there 2 hours before the doors open. Heh... I'm a little obsessed. Omar is small. Very small. He probably wouldn't come up to my shoulders if he stood next to me, his hair included. Omar might even legally be classified as a midget. He is that small. But omg he is a great guitarist. The band would string out and just jam for really long periods of time. During one of these jam sessions, I looked up at Omar and saw him rockin' out. It just so happend that the blue spotlight that was on the crowd was directly behind his head, and shining in my eyes. So all I saw was a silhouette of Omar playing, he was outlined by a blue light. It was freaky almost. His afro made it look like he had a blue halo around his head, as angelic sounds came from his guitar. Heh, figurative language is awesome. It was so crazy to see him play though, I'm surprized he can be so good, when he is so small. Its just insane. I can't get over it. HE IS SMALL!!! I spent about $60 on random stuff at the show, so if you love me, and are nice to me, maybe I'll be generous with some of it. God I wish I could have taken my camera in there....
