Summary: Nakajima Yuto, a man who thought his life was already good and perfect as it is, never knew that this one person could be both the sunshine he needed and the storm he had to bear through.
CHAPTER ONE[A bit clumsy, but nonetheless adorable.]
Yuto's POV
What did he just say? He thought to himself.
"What for? I think he'll do just fine."
"Oh, don't complain now, it won't be long. And besides, it's not bad if you gain another friend, isn't it?", the boss, Okamoto Keito replied.
It isn't bad, he just not used to having partners or having someone work closely with him for so long. He gave in anyway and smiled back.
He got up from his chair and bowed in front of the smaller man. "I'm Nakajima Yuto, pleased to meet you. I hope that we can work well together and that I become of use to you."
"You're so formal, Yuto-kun!" Yuto blinked while thinking,
What did he just call him?
"Yuto-kun...?"
"Is that too informal? I apologize for the rude gesture!" Yamada quickly bowing.
"Ah, I was just surprised. No one really calls me by that name."
"Can I be the first one then?"
Yuto paused, Should I really be this friendly to him? Maybe it'll pass.
He cleared his throat, following up with, "Er, sure. I don't mind."
"Yuto-kun, let's start working now, shall we?"
Yuto nodded quietly and sat back down. They discussed the projects for their team and the monthly goals for hours. Yuto kept going on and on about the company and their progress, not noticing Yamada was already about to doze off.
"Yamada-san?"
He woke up with a start. "Ah! I'm really sorry! I've blew it, haven't I?!"
Yuto chuckled, "No, not really. I guess I just bore you to death, didn't I?"
"No, no! It's my entirely my fault! Please forgive me!" He smiled sheepishly while clasping his hands together as if begging for an apology.
"It's fine, Yamada-san. I have nothing against you."
Yamada laughed a bit saying, "I can get quite annoying and hyper, can't I?"
Yuto, without thinking, said out loud,
"I think it's very cute."
"What did I just say out loud?!" Only realizing this after moments he had said this and Yamada looking away in embarrassment. He too was extremely embarrassed at the fact he had said something so tactless; so not expected of him. He wanted to bash his head on the desk or dip his head in cold water just to get rid of these feelings.
Yamada slightly flushed, whispered, "You think so?" then replying a few seconds later, "Ah, don't answer that."
Yuto still feeling uneasiness from his retort, got up and went to the bathroom. Before he had left, he saw Yamada going back to look at his papers, but he was only fumbling with them; not really doing what he was supposed to do. He went to wash his face and clear his head for a while.
What was I thinking, saying that to a stranger and a man?! I have to keep my act together!
He came back to see Yamada doing the paperwork and watched over him a bit. Even after a while, it was utter silence between them. It was so quiet that they could only hear the fumbling of the pages and the scratching noises of their pens. Not long after that, it was already pretty late and they ended up being the last ones at the office. Mainly because they spent their whole morning and afternoon discussing. But as for Yuto, he couldn't get his mind out of what had happened earlier. Why did I say such a thing?, he constantly thought to himself.
Yamada broke the silence saying, "Let's go out for dinner together."
NOTES: I don't know if I wrote well honestly, and IT'S REALLY SLOW I DON'T KNOW WHETHER TO SPEED IT UP A BIT OR TAKE THE SLOW BURN ROUTE HAHA. Most of their positions are heavily influenced by the GML shoot. And I'll be adding more characters soon! Thank you for reading again.
