Doing a test-curing today. The little tile pieces I was trying to make seem to like to stick to things a lot. I'm contemplating making several larger solid units rather than trying to attach lots of little scales to some kind of backing. We'll see.
Temp on this batch was 275 according to my oven dial. Curing time was 17 minutes from cold oven to shut-off. Left sculpey in oven for cool-down. Will have verdict soon.
ETA: verdict: good! Scales will need some finishing work and I need to figure out some way to make them more uniform. Also still not sure whether I want to go that route for the armor or not. They'll probably make some really cool jewelry though. The sculpey cures to a nice deep blue with some very pretty shiney bits. I'm not sure how those got in there - maybe the translucent I mixed it with? The thin edges on some of them are a very very nice translucent blue and a few scales also have paler swirls. All in all, definitely win.
