Random small acts of kindness warm my heart :)

After reading volume 1 of Loveless and falling in love with it, I ordered  a second hand copy of volume 2 from an independant seller through amazon. I went for this copy because the cheapest new copies were going for (following the collapse of Tokyopop and their cease in publication) was £12 (ouch!), though I was a bit dubious, as I've had problems ordering through independant sellers before (i.e. being sent the wrong item, not being sent the item at all), and also the books condition was described as 'good', which, when coming from an independant seller, would be the seller's own interpretation of 'good condition', and with no images of the item you have no way of seeing how good 'good condition' actually is, and so can only take their word for it. But at just £4, postage included, it was comparitively much cheaper, so I decided to take the risk.

Anyway, the parcel from the seller arrived today, and was worringly bigger than expected. 'Oh great,' I thought 'they've either sent me the wrong item, or I've been sent (and charged for) two copies instead of one'. But when I opened it, there was volume 2.......and also volume 3. There was a note that came with them: ' Hi, i found another book in this series - not sure if you're looking for it, but I'm not going to read it again'. The guy happened to remember that he also had volume 3, and so decided to send it to me, along with the book I ordered, for free. He could have sold it too and made another 4 quid (I know I would have), but he gave it to me instead, even paying an extra 50p postage for it. It was such a simple act of kindness, but I found it really sweet :) . It's saved me the £5 it would cost to buy that volume myself (and as a student, money's pretty tight), and I just found it really sweet that he was kind enough to give me that book for nothing, on the off-chance that I may want it. It made my day :) .
