With XXXHolic ending, one of the things I'm wondering and hoping is that CLAMP will resume Legal Drug. I mean, once XXXholic ends they will only be drawing Kobato and Gate 7, so they will have a lot of room in their manga schedule, and they haven't announced plans for another series. So could it possible that CLAMP are planning to surprise us with a continuation of Legal drug? I can see them announcing that news of it's continuation suddenly and without warning to surprise fans. I hope that happens.
But if they do continue it, I'm wondering whether they will carry on where they left off or start again. I hope for the former. The latter would just waste time.
And I've just thought; same thing with Clover, will they continue that? Though I'm not as desperate to see that given a conclusion as I was Legal drug. And come to think of it, theres been no more news about the Clover live action hollywood movie. Just as well really; we don't need Hollywood destroying two mangas in the upcoming years. Like Fruits basket, it has the potential to be a brilliant and beautiful movie, but predictably with be shit.
And speaking of movies, the movie adaptation of Looking for Alaska is meant to come out this year. I'm not sure whether I look foward to that or dread it. I looked foward to it when I first heard the news, but now, after having seen the dreadful quality of book-movie adaptations in recent years, I don't hold much hope of it being good. They have changed the name, which is never a good sign.
Hoshi wa Utau will also conclude this month, which has made me wonder; what will Takaya do next? I hope she will do another manga. But what kind? I hope she will stick to drama, as that is what she's good at. What I've read of her previous fantasy work wasn't really that brilliant. Some people have previously talked about her doing a Fruits Basket sequal, but I'm not sure what I think of that. I don't think it would be very good, and rather pointless too. I just want to see the characters again. I want to see Shigure and Akito with children ^^. And I just want to see Shigure again XD I was hoping all the way through Hoshi that Takaya would do a CLAMP and have a cameo appearance by some of the Furuba characters, but it didn't happen XD
But the sad thing is that, with Hoshi and Holic ending, I'm going to have less manga's to follow (and my two favourite mangas will be over T-T). Therefore I'm currently finding other series to get in to. Any recommendations people? I plan to read Ashiteruze baby, and have amazoned the first copy (which should arrive soon). I'm also considering reading some BL (I've heard that Junjou Romantica is good). It feels good to be finding various mangas to read; it makes me feel like when I fist discovered manga again. I'm currently finishing Tokyo babylon, which I'm really enjoying. Vol 5 arrived today in the post, so I will read that later.
I'm also currently getting stuck in to Cooking mama 2. It's a great little game, and for Japanese cusine fanatics, if anything, it gives you a good education in Japanese foods :3 I've also undertaken a project to create my own LJ mood theme, which will take quite a lot of work. I've also made an Luka and CLAMP icons batch which I need to post at somepoint, when I have the time (and can be bothered). I would definitely say that I have my thumbs in quite a number of pies at the moment :3 So I'm pretty busy at present, particularly with college. I'd also like to get round to doing some more non-manga reading when I have the time. I brought Meg Rosof's How I live now in a charity shop yesterday, and I'd like to get round to reading that sometime. It's meant to be very good. I'd like to read more novels, but the problem is that I think I've read all the good ones.
I've been looking up university courses recently and it's annoying; there's so little I like :( For the career I want to do, I'm going to have to study developmental pyschology, special needs, and child development. I've found places that have courses in early child development, but they're mostly in Essex, which is depressing. I was hoping to get out of Essex; I wanted to study in Cambridge, but I've yet to find universities there that have the courses I am interested in. Oh well, I've got quite a bit of time yet.
Looking for Alaska movie update: I checked on the internet, and apparently although a script has been written, the movie has been dropped by Paramount. I'm not sure whether it was over the contreversy raised over the book or just lack of interest, but I'm a little relieved to honest. Atleast they aren't going to be ruining it any time soon.
