Hourou Musuko chapter 104
This chapter continues the story of the older transgender woman Nitori met a few chapters ago. We now that Mii-tan and papa are living with papa's mother, who, follwing Mii-tans mother's death, is currently trying to set her son up with a new wife. Unknown to her mother, she (whose name is revealed as Taiichirou in this chapter) continues to go on outings dressed in womans clothing with her daughter. As her daughter nearly spills the beans to her mother, she decides that she will have to stop crossdressing with her daughter soon, but questions whether she has the strength the venture out in to the world as a woman by herself. She wonders about what she would do, what would be best, and questions whether she would be alone in her life as a woman. She retains the phone number she shared with Nitori in a previous chapter, and phones him at the end of the chapter, though what their phone call is about has yet to be shown.
There's not really much that happens in this chapter, it is more just an continuation of the exploration of Taiichirou's character and life. However, it is very insightful, and poignant as well. It raises alot of issues regarding the difficulties and struggles of being a transgender adult, looking at a lot of the harsh realities Nitori, still young, and having gone through her teenage years with supportive and understanding friends, has yet to encounter. I'm really loving papa's character, and I really look foward to her and Mii-tan's story continuing in future chapters.
