After School Nightmare Chapter 34 revelation

She was a delusion all along!!

Oh God, I just can't get get over how shocking and clever this twist is! Looking back, I now realise:

- Mashiro never actually saw her outside of the dream.

- During his confession, Sou was the only one who could see her. She was standing 'outside of Mashiro's line of sight' at the time. In actuality, she was never there at all.

- Sou was the only person who ever shown interacting with her outside of the dream

- Those girls where talking about his real sister. That also explains his rather confusing and out of place reaction to her being brought up.

- The real Ai was who his mother was talking to on the phone, and who was asking over him. This also makes his efforts to keep away from her make sense, and in a completely different context from before.

And *that* scene scared the SHIT out of me. I actually felt the hairs rising on the back of my neck.

I rarely go in for flailing, but I just can't get over how BRILLIANT this twist is! I never saw it coming, but it makes perfect sense in hindsight, and it's truly chilling. I've heard ASN refered to as a series you need to read twice to really appreciate, and I'm now really beginning to understand why. Setona Mizushiro is just incredible. I can understand why she has such a cult following. She's a genuis, she really is.
