This is the Character song for Boris Airay from the visual novel game Clover no Kuni no Alice (クローバーの国のアリス), part of Quinrose's "Wonderful Wonder World" / Alice series.

The Alice series takes the original "Alice in wonderland" and creates a world, "Wonderful Wonder World", with slightly violent and slightly flawed roleholders (the main characters who have a game-route with Alice) and extra's (literally faceless characters who are easy to replace). In this world the roleholder Boris is the Cheshire cat who lives in the forest area in Clover no Kuni, but used to live in the amusement park in the first game (Heart no Kuni, Clover is the second game).
Boris is highly attached to Alice but feels left out every time she goes to meet other characters. He want's her to come and visit him alone.

Boris is voiced by Noriaki Sugiyama.

The song is the sixth track from the CD "Alice in deep forest~深い森の国のアリス~"

The detour is lengthy (*0)
Song: Boris Airay (CV: Sugiyama Noriaki)

When you open the door, you can see it
A newly changing scenery
the amusement park peeking through
Occasionaly having fun without worries
Those moments are necessary too
Relax

If you're lost and hesitant
I'll lead you by the hand
So let's jump right into it (*1)
It should be fine to take things more lightly (*2)

Wherever you go
The same sky and earth stretch out
If it is the same with whomever you go
Then take a detour with me

Even if you close the door, it remains (*3)
The after image will pass through
The gap between the two of us
There is no need to be frightened of what's behind you (*4)
It won't come follow you immediately
Don't look back

It's enough to look
Only at the things in front of you
Everything that is reflected in your eyes
Before it all fades
Raise your head (*5)

Both lie and truth are the same
Someday they will disappear, but
When you have lost your way,
Both will break down

Wherever you go,
The same sky and earth stretch out
If it is the same with whomever you go
Then take a detour with me

Notes:
(*0) - To be more precise, "yorimichi" is "the road one takes when dropping by something/someone (usually because one want's to and "it's on the way anyway") when on their way to another place".
(*1) - I firstly translated this line as "let's soar on the winds". Please keep the feeling of this translation when reading "let's jump right into it".
(*2) - Literal: "think more lightly"
(*3) - This line can also be translated as: "Even if you close the door, the remaining after image will pass (through the space) between us"
(*4) - More literal: "Even when you aren't frightened of what's behind you" - but the line sounds like "It won't come and haunt you, so there is no need to be frightened"
(*5) - Holds nuances of "look at me", "look up" and "see what's in front of you" (in the positive sense of "there is so much to see").
