more about the birth
So I wanted to say a couple more things about the birth. One moment that really touched me was when Adrienne and James had come downstairs and we were all taking turns holding little James and talking about the birth. At one point when A was holding James, he opened his eyes and started looking around at everyone in the room. It was so crazy! I don't know how well babies can actually see in the beginning, but it was amazing to see him focusing on the people in the room - realizing they are also alive human beings. Kind of magical.
