Got into Philadelphia this morning. Cool city. Walked around for a little while. I guess there was supposed to be a bus waiting to pick me up, but I want to look around here for a while. Besides, I can always hitch a ride to Brownell. Like I said, I can't seem to find it on a map, but there are lots of places not on maps. I'll just walk until I start seeing fantastic things. Well...more fantastic than those things in the natural world.
The world is so full of things people take for granted. Especially here in the city. People rush along in their own little worlds, oblivious of things around them, not looking at other people. Not appreciating that there are trees around them.
On that...why are the trees here caged? Are people worried they are going to uproot and walk away? Do they feel they need to imprison the trees? Why? If they think putting a fence around a tree will prevent harm from coming to the tree...um...these trees are so cicatrixed where people have carved their epithets in them.
Anyway. I don't know what kind of schedule I'm on for getting to Rowan, but I got time to kick around, and hitch my way there. See the countryside. I'll get there sooner or later.
