Reality differs from person to person. It's what you choose to see, and make it be.

No. That is what they want you to think. That is what keeps you in stasis. Reality is what they make you see. reality has been made to give you the illusion of free will and thought, but you are under their control, until you break that control.

Who is 'they'?

The Control Board. The Police. The government. The insect people. The vegetable people. The Venusian crab people. Your parents. Your scientists and doctors. Every institution who exercises control over you.

Who controls Death?

In most cases, Death. But you can control death if you know how.

But what if you are Death?

Then I would hope you control yourself. And not take it too personally when people dismiss you like a fly.

Why would I take it personally? It happens.

Now, this control that is exercised over everyone, this distortion of reality, it's for manipulation, correct? But to what purpose?

It does. But earthquakes happen and people blame the Gods and get angry at that. People tend to take everything personally, and I've never met a god who didn't. Especially when you defy them.

The purpose is total, complete control.

Life is a complicated situation. God or not, I'm just another person here! It'd hardly be fair for me to expect anything without earning it. But, in a way, you're also right! If anyone did anything to harm the people I care about, I'd definitely do my best to protect them. Everyone has their own beliefs, though, you have to respect that.

And then what?

I don't need to do anything.

And then eat.

True, true. I didn't mean to offend you by anything!

Someone's going to eat us? Huh.

I am not offended. But there are things--beliefs--I do not, and will not respect. I will choose myself what I deem worthy of giving my respect to.

Figurative and literally in some cases.

Respecting one's right to their own beliefs is different from respecting the belief itself. But it's your choice. Nobody can tell you how to live your life.

Figuratively how? Do they eat one's soul?

I disagree. You are your belief. And there are some beliefs which are foul and deserve death. I don't tolerate anything telling me how to live my life. I've been quite successful. More than most.

Yes. They can destroy even the soul now, a thing not even gods can do.
