The developers of the casino in the Columbus (OH) area are reportedly looking at alternatives to their sewage disposal problem if the site, which is in Franklin Township, is not annexed to Columbus, a city requirement for hooking up to sewer lines. The rumor is that Marysville has excess capacity in its wastewater treatment plant and the raw sewage may be trucked up there. However, there is no truth to the rumor that it will be hauled up US-33 in a caravan of "stool buses".
Governor Kasich campaigned on a platform that included scuttling plans for light rail between Cleveland and Cincinnati. In fact, he turned down a federal grant of $400m to study the feasibility, saying that it was a waste of money. Now he is considering asking for it back to implement rail service to Marysville since it would be needed for the casino.
The new line would be called John "Cornelius" Kasich's Soil Train.
