So I just checked my email and had one from my Queer Cinema/formerly Documentary professor Dan Humphrey. It was entitled "your paper" which quickly gave me a heart attack, since I figured there must be something wrong with the one I handed in last week. But no, it was him asking whether I would be willing to read my Who Killed Vincent Chin?/Night and Fog paper at the Cinema Studies conference next Friday. He said he had to pick one from the documentary class and that my paper stood out as the best. I just feel really honored right now. I know I'm a decent paper writer but it feels good to get some recognition for it. He says I'll get a certificate of excellence and i can put this on graduate school apps if I want to. Not bad, considering I was half asleep for Who Killed Vincent Chin? and Night and Fog. Only thing I'm worried about. I have a fear of public speaking, I don't even like talking in large classes. And having to read an 8page paper in front of an audience? eek!
