It's about that time of year...thought this might be fun?

1. What have you and your horse(s) accomplished this year, now that we're approaching the end of it?  What are you proud of and pleased about?

2. What would you like to get done in 2009?

2008:
Stormy and I have accomplished something I never thought possible - He stopped pulling on the bit. We can now go at a steady trot (still working on the canter, but he's getting the idea) without getting a full bicep workout. That was more of me training myself to stop being on his mouth so much, but after about 6 years of riding like that, Stormy also had to adjust. We both seem to enjoy this idea much more.

I have also made the adjustment of riding a few times a month to riding several times a week (though, due to the massive snow storm we just had - that's been put on hold!). I've been testing how far and how far he can go and it looks promising!! I'm very proud of what we have accomplished this year and I'm looking forward to doing more. :)

2009:
I would like to venture out of my hole in the woods and enjoy some events. I'd like to do some community trail rides, some games, maybe even a few shows.

I'm not so much worried about Stormy, but myself. Because I've been out of lessons for many years now, my equitation has gone down the tube. I hope to improve that as well.

I'm also planning on having my mother teach me how to trailer! She is a little apprehensive to me driving her new truck, but I'm not a bad driver (had my license for 3 years & no accidents!) and she'll be with me the whole time.
