It's about that time of year...thought this might be fun?

1. What have you and your horse(s) accomplished this year, now that we're approaching the end of it?  What are you proud of and pleased about?

2. What would you like to get done in 2009?

1. This year is the year Flynn turned from a baby pony into a real horse. We went to our first dressage shows this year, including a big rated show away from home, and finished the season with a respectable 63% and second place at Training Level. My former Giraffe Pony learned to go on the bit (and I learned how to keep her there ...), and I got her started over fences. It's been so amazing to watch her grow up -- and it's great that I've gotten to do the work myself (albeit with a great deal of help on the ground from my wonderful and exceptionally patient trainer). Flynn was a snotty baby, but she's turned into a really awesome young horse, and a fun ride to boot.

2. Goals for '09 are to work on improving her canter (it CAN be really good, but the work is still inconsistent), train leg-yield and shoulder-in, go to as many shows as I can afford, and maybe, just MAYBE show First Level, test 1 at the last show of the season. And maybe a couple of little local hunter shows, depending on how brave I'm feeling about jumping away from home. I'm a big chicken, which is a huge part of the reason I ride dressage. :P
