It's about that time of year...thought this might be fun?
1. What have you and your horse(s) accomplished this year, now that we're approaching the end of it? What are you proud of and pleased about?
2. What would you like to get done in 2009?

1. I'm really proud of my 8-years-old gelding Friesian. I've had him for one year now and we start everything from zero. I really mean zero.
When I first got him, he couldn't on the bit, his trot was very short and absolutely lacks of impulsion, his head always up in the air and when I tried to get him down, he somehow seemed to be nervous, and he couldn't even do a proper canter! Everything was rushing and back there people might even called this horse a crazy one. I couldn't blame him because the former owner didn't know how to ride a horse plus he didn't have time for him. The trainer didn't teach him anything at all. She just did some exercises like walk, trot, and I believed a little canter. That's all.
By the end of this year, we can make him move much more forward, not to mention on the bit thing; he's very beautiful :). He can do both medium canter and collected canter now. Some lateral works, such as leg yielding, shoulder-in, hunched-in,little bit of half pass, are achieved. Now we're teaching him a flying change which is quite hard because it's not natural for this kind of breed.
2. Next year, me and my instructor are planning to train him the piaff and passage, canter piroutte, and most important thing, a proper flying change. ( right now he always gives us a big buck in order to change his hind legs. :) )
He's now ready to compete in Elementary class but I'm not sure if I'm ready or not. :O
