The paradox of our time in history is that..
We have wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints.
We have taller buildings, but shorter tempers.
We have more knowledge, but less judgment.
There are more experts, yet more problems.
We have bigger houses and smaller families.
There is more medicine, but less wellness.
We have more conveniences, but less time.
We have more degrees, but less sense.
We buy more, but enjoy it less.
We spend more, but have less.
We spend too recklessly,
Watch TV too much,
Stay up too late,
Get up too tired,
Laugh too little,
Read too little,
Pray too seldom,
Drive too fast,
Smoke too much,
Drink too much,
Get too angry.
We’ve been to the moon, but can't cross a street to meet a neighbor.
We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.
We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We’ve added years to life, but not life to our years.
We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life.
We’ve conquered the atom, but not our prejudices.
We’ve done larger things, but not better things.
We conquered outer-space, but not inner-space.
We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted souls.
We’ve learned to rush, but not to wait.
We plan more, but we accomplish less.
We write more, but we learn less.
These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion.
These are the days of two incomes, but more divorce.
Times of steep profits and shallow relationships.
The days of fancier houses, but broken homes.
The times of big men and small character.
Days of throw-away morality,
Disposable diapers,
Overweight bodies,
One-night stands,
Quick Trips.
Remember to say "I love you" to your loved ones and mean it.
Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment.
Remember to spend time with your loved ones.
Give time to share your thoughts.
Give time to speak.
Give time to love.
