Fic Rec: Stargate Atlantis
I rarely do fic recs on LJ (I save them for Seanachais), but this one has to get circulated, like, now.
You know how I'm always bitching about the lack of really good, plotty, gen Atlantis fic that doesn't revolve solely around hurt/comfort, and Sheppard and McKay? Well, Wraithfodder produced a novel that almost exactly suits my requirements; it's another very bad day for Major Sheppard, but he's stranded on the other side of the gate with Zelenka, a very nasty infection, and a force field that keeps them from getting home (where everyone is freaking out). The situation is fraught without ever becoming melodramatic, everyone gets something to do and does it perfectly in character, and the whole thing is plotted neatly and suspensefully, with crisp, clean writing and dialogue. I cannot recommend highly enough that everyone runs to read this immediately!
