And it's very cool. I had a hard time getting past the first chapter, because Eregion seemed like a Mary Sue - and she isn't entirely MS-free - but she's a *good*, with-boundaries-and-sanity Mary Sue, and the evolution of her friendship with Snape is well done. The racing set-up in the story is *very* similar to events in the HP books, and the LOTR elements are nice additions, not intrusive or jarring at all.
She's going to write a sequel, and I'm looking forward to it.
